This page describes the data used to operate ITNWS.
Reading the site
No registration is needed to read our stories. At launch, the site has no third-party advertising networks, external analytics services or newsletter forms. Fonts and the main illustrations are served from our own server.
Technical information
The web server keeps technical request logs, including the requested page, time, response code and network connection information such as the IP address. These are used to operate the site, diagnose errors and prevent abuse.
Browser preferences
The site may store your chosen colour theme in browser local storage. The language plugin may use a technical cookie to remember a language preference. The URL determines the language of the page being viewed.
WordPress uses technical authentication cookies when editors sign in to the administration panel. Visitors do not need to sign in to read articles.
External links
Source links may lead to other organisations’ websites, where their own policies apply. Including a link does not itself load that website’s tracking tools on ITNWS pages.

If comments, subscriptions, analytics or other features involving personal data are introduced, this page will be updated to describe how they work.
